Tulsi jeera chaas with Organic Tulsi Powder

A glass of pale green tulsi jeera chaas next to a jar of Shuddha Sattva Organic Tulsi Powder, with green powder, cumin, and tulsi leaves on a wooden table.

Tulsi jeera chaas with Organic Tulsi Powder

Chaas is thin buttermilk: plain curd whisked with cold water. Jeera is cumin. Tulsi here means holy basil, used as a powder. This glass is cold. Warm tulsi drinks are on the tulsi tea and tulsi adrak kadha posts.

Use Shuddha Sattva Organic Tulsi Powder, 100 g.

Ingredients (1 glass)

Method (about 2 minutes)

  1. Slurry: Stir the tulsi powder into 2 tbsp of the cold water until there are no lumps.
  2. Curd: Whisk the curd smooth. Add the rest of the water, the slurry, the roasted cumin, and the salt.
  3. Serve: Add mint if you are using it. Taste. If the tulsi tastes strong, add a splash more water. Drink it cold, the same day.

Taste note

The powder can taste earthy. The curd and the roasted cumin carry that taste. More on that is in why herbal powders taste earthy. Skip chilli in this glass. Use ½ tsp of powder.
